These are great resources for every small business or startup on a tight budget:


1        Set up a Twitter account and start connecting  with like-minded people and promote each post.

 

2        Use  Bufferapp and increase your clickthrough rate by 200% (source Bufferapp)

 

 

3        Use Crowdbooster for Twitter analytics in order to track what you tweet.

 

 

4        Write an amazing post intended as a guest blog post for a popular blog in your niche, specifically for that blog. Make it something valuable. Email the owner of the blog asking if he is interested in publishing it. Use tools such as The Archivist or WeFollow.com

 

 

5        Ask a friend to submit your articles to suitable social bookmarking sites such a Digg, StumbleUpon. Give the submission an initial push by asking other friends and contacts to vote on it. Mention the article and link to it from your social networking accounts.

 

 

6        Add share buttons to each post to make it easy for people to promote your posts for you.

 

 

7        Run a competition that offers as a reward a donation to a charity. Offer £x for the winner of the competition to write a post that discusses charity and why he or she wants the donation to go there. They will need to link back to the post. . Ask for Twitter retweets.  £X- up to you

  • Keyword*directory

 

9. Similarly, look for forums where you can include your signature after having given away some relevant content. Use any of the following:

 

  • Keyword forum

  • intitle:forum keyword
  • inurl: forum keyword
  • inurl blog keyword
  • “add comment” keyword
  • “post comment” keyword
